THE FIRST MAP OF AUSTRALIA

The first european , who recorded Australia on map was a  well-known English captain James Cook.

He was born in 1728 in Yorkshire , England . 

Cook joined the British merchant navy as a teenager and joined the Royal Navy in 1755.

Later he was sent by the British Admiralty as commander of Bark Endeavour for the first of three Pacific voyages.

In 1766 , the Royal Society engaged him to travel to the Pacific Ocean . Cook made some observations , after which he sailed to New Zealand . He made a map of the islands . He then voyaged west and reached the south-eastern cost of Australia in April 1770 . And so his expedition became the first recorded . Europeans to have encountered eastern coastline of Australia.

The animals of  Australia

 There are many animals in Australia that you cannot see anywhere else.

 One of them is kangaroo.There are many types of kangaroo.The biggest is great grey kangaroo.They are 213 centimetres tall and can run at 56 kilometres per hour.

 Now I wuod like to tell you about koalas.They have pockets inside their mouths to food.They dont have tails.The number of  koalas is getting smaller because of fumes from bush fires.

In conclusion I woud like to say there are a lot of other species of animals in Australia which dont  live anywhere else.

Australian cuisine was  moustly taken from Britan, because Australia was а British colony.

In XIX-XX centuries people from different pars of asian rigeon started to move and brought their own style of cooking to Australia

Now Australian cuisine is international. In This country you can see a lot of restarants with dishes all over the world.

April Fool's Day Craft:  Fake Spills

They look like a mess, but they're actually solid!  Make them to trick mom, dad or the lunchroom supervisor on April Fool's Day.
 

Materials:

• white glue (regular school glue)
• white paint (we used acrylic paint)
• favorite breakfast cereal
• plastic spoon
• plastic wrap (saran wrap)
• plastic cup or other small container you can dispose of

Instructions:

• Pour white glue into plastic cup or other disposable container -- You don't have to be really fussy about the amounts you use... we used a plastic cup and filled it about 1/3 of the way full.
   
• Add about 1 tsp of white paint.  (Again, you don't have to be exact).
   
• Stir well with plastic spoon.
   
• Cover tray or cookie sheet with plastic wrap (the project takes a few days to dry so you'll want something you can move out of the way).
   
• Pour your glue/paint mixture onto the saran wrap and just let it ooze out into a spill shape.
   
• Scrape out as much as you can using your spoon.
   
• Discard your cup or container
   
• OPTIONAL:  Put your spoon into the spill (so it looks like the spoon was spilled too).
   
• Sprinkle some cereal into the spill (we used cheerios).
   
• Set aside for at least 2 days to dry (it may take a bit longer or shorter depending on the climate you live in) -- you can speed up the process by putting it near a heat source (for example, turn an oven on as low as you can, let it heat and then turn it off -- pop the project in the cooling oven for awhile) -- make sure the heat source isn't TOO hot -- we don't want smoldering acrylic paint!
   
• When it's dry, peel off the plastic wrap and place your 'spill' somewhere where it'll fool people!

EXPERIMENT A BIT!  Use different colors of paint to make different kinds of spill... we used pink paint, a single serving yogurt container and a spoon to make a "yogurt spill".
